Hi all

I thought I’d resurrect this old thread as I just noticed something the other day that has been staring me in the face all along.
While waiting in the truck for my wife the other day, my eyes came to rest on the door windlace.
It occurred to me that the same material may have been used in the windlace as was used on the seats.
So I came back to this thread to compare my windlace to a picture posted by 35Mike of a cover he believed to be an NOS original, and by Rabaut of Mark Yeaman’s seat which was believed to be original as well.
I am attaching 2 pictures of my windlace, and a picture of 35Mike’s seat, and a picture of Mark Yeaman’s seat below for all to compare.
It is my opinion that BOTH of their seat covers are indeed material originally used by Chevrolet during the time period of 1941-46, and are the same material as was used in the door windlace.
Using the same material in the windlace would make sense from an economic stand point.
The 1940 seats may have been the same texture, but a darker (near black) color.

So…
I now believe 35Mike’s back rest cover to be an authentic NOS cover,
Mark Yeaman’s seat is an original seat and cover,
my door windlace is original to the truck and the same material as the seats were,
and… my seat covers are not original but are a very old recover using the old “leatherette” type of material over the original “curled hair mat”.

What do you all think?
