I am looking for a 27 exhaust manifold but am not to hopeful. I was considering making my own but not sure of best material, stainless or mild steel. I am unsure of the heat expansion effect on the block by using something other than cast iron. Any ideas? Anyone ever have to "roll their own" exhaust manifold? Thanks for any help,
All 490 thru 1927 passenger cars (AA) used shorter exhaust manifold #345446. 1927 One ton (LM) uses #351013 which is slightly longer. The carb heat riser attaches to manifold and after an elbow, the muffler. Many old cars had no exhaust pipe beyond the muffler. Unless you like breathing carbon monoxide, I would recommend extending a pipe from the muffler behind the axle out the far side of the vehicle, if you plan to drive farther than the show grounds.
