I am about to install the grille emblem and want to make sure I am installing it correctly. It appears that it just pushes into the round hole in the grill shell a relies on a friction fit to hold it in. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

If your '27 grill emblem has a miniature hat shaped piece soldered to it, you are correct in thinking that it is a friction fit for retention in the radiator shell. Just take care that the emblem is aligned correctly prior to installation and apply pressure in the center of the emblem. Good Luck!
