Any advice on what glue to use putting a 29 wood steering wheel back together? How did you clamp it together?
It appears it was painted black is that correct?
Thanks
Dave

Gorilla glue is very good. I glued a pot handle together and it goes through the dishwasher for three years now.

I agree...I've used Gorilla Glue on several of them with great success. Another tip: Use a 1" wide ratcheting tie-down strap to clamp the wheel in place while the glue dries. Just lie it on a flat surface, put the strap around it and snug it up tight.
The wheel was originally painted black, but most people doing restorations seem to prefer to refinish them with clear polyurethane so the wood's grain can be enjoyed.

I practiced on the old weathered wheel and it turned out very well. I did learn to check and recheck that the joints are in alignment after clamping. The better wheel turned out great, thanks for your help.

I used gorilla glue on my 26 chevrolet steering wheel last week ...works well. I used it first on a 1917 buick steering wheel years ago.
