If you have a 1931 Chevy, than you have run into a worn out Worm Gear. There are NO new ones available anywhere, although the sector shaft seem to be available. I know of a company that will renovate my old worm gear and restore the steering box for a hefty price.

I am wondering what others have done for their worm gear and steering? Have you found a solution ?
