My son recently acquired a Sealand Fire Truck manufactured in Bridgeport, Connecticut, mounted on a 1939 Indiana truck chassis. Indiana was a truck division of the White Truck Company. My son and I have been able to find very little information on either the Sealand Fire Engine Company or the Indiana Truck Company. Any information club members can give us will be appreciated. Google "Metropolitan Body Co. Bridgeport Conn. - This may be the source of the truck body you have.

Thanks Steve for the information. Unfortunately the WICI article dwells more on the early Indiana trucks and not on the trucks manufactured after White purchased the Indiana company in 1932 and moved it from Marion, Indiana to Cleveland, Ohio. White discontinued production of Indiana trucks in 1939.

Thanks for the reply to my post. I cannot connect the Metropolitan Body company to the Sealand Fire Engine Company in Bridgeport, Conn .Apparently Sealand built lighter duty fire engines on 1 1/2ton chassis, chevrolet and GMC included. My son and I believe a Sealand body on a n Indiana chassis is quite rare. Sealand fire trucks had a Sealand nameplate attached to each side of the hood on whatever chassis they were using.

Are you looking for information regarding the company or specific info relative to your truck? You might check out the ATHS-American Truck Historical Society. Some components may be common to other trucks so identifying them may be beneficial to search other sources and manufacturers.

Good point Steve. also the ATCA (Antique Truck Club Of America) maintains a library at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles in Boyertown, PA that may have information on the Indiana truck.. We would also like to find more information on the Sealand Fire Truck Company but have not been able to learn very much to date which is strange since they were apparently in business for some time.
