Does anyone have pictures of the original brackets for the right side fender mount spare. The truck I’m working on has the two brackets attached to the fender, the inside one with a 1/2” dog bone hole and the outside bracket with a slot in it. I want to fabricate the missing pieces but need something to go by. I assume the piece that goes through the spokes is a 1/2” round with a cross pin to engage into the inside bracket and it most likely has a flat on it to mate with another bracket that locks into the slot. If anyone can post pictures that would be great.

This isn't like my '34. Could it be a later kludge?
Here's one, not mine. https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1934/chevrolet/master/101432305
The nut at the top is the end of a hefty rod that goes down to the fender.
There was a lock that went through the spokes, but it wasn't meant to take any load.

I have a '36 and have a tire lock. The lock is an accessory. These come in several types. (they may look differently) There were also other brands sold. The one you want is a type that goes through the wheel rim. The side that is closest to the truck has a "T" that goes through the hole. The other side away from the truck has the lock. The one I have screws tight bringing the two brackets snugly against the tire or in case of a flat the tire and rim. The lock keeps it in place preventing the "T" from sliding out the hole on that side. I found mine at a garage sale. Most people do not know what they have; just that it's an odd part for a car...so they think. I suggest you hunt for one at a speed shop as they through way lot's of parts making "Hot Rods". Or like I said, garage sales of auto parts, parting out cars ads. etc. This is a hard to find item but they are out there you just got to hunt for them. It took me a year to find mine and it was a buddy that found it for me. Good luck.

Thanks guys. It’s not my truck so rather than search for one I’m going to make one up.

There are after market accessory locks that came some years later, too. I think you can make one up and no one can say it does not look right. Especially if it is functional.
