I just saw this on eBay.

This is in original GM box, this is a rare find,

I didn't think that Chevrolet had vacuum shift until after 38. Am I wrong?

No!
At least 39 if not 40.

nOT TIL 1939 AND IT WAS A COLUMN SHIFT. 1937-1938 WERE FLOOR SHIFTS.

eBay has become my least desirable source for almost anything. As numerous of us on VCCA Chat have noted most sellers have no clue what they are really offering nor do they care about correcting the listing.

While all 1939s with vacuum assist were those with the shift on the column I think there some 1939 that used floor shift. Am I correct on this?

It may be that only the top of the line for that year had the vacuum assist. Don't know for sure.

Thank you guys. I had a vacuum shift in my 41 coupe and I really didn't think you could put a vacuum shift on the floor. I have half a notion to contact that vender on eBay and try to correct him. He was partially correct, it is a rare find for those years. :)

I contacted the vender on eBay about the years Chevrolet had used vacuum shift on their cars. He was nice enough to thank me and he immediately change his listing.
