MR MACK
basic electricity theory is not quite correct.
current leaving the battery must return to the battery. the internal resistance of the device determines the voltage drop across the device plus the current thus the formula (p=ie) POWER IS THE HEA OE ENERGY DISSAPATED. I is current. e is voltage applied. the current on the ground side will be the same as current on the hot side.

Hahaha! Maybe after my truck is done I will sit back and have a cold one! Or perhaps the day when I will get my cab back from paint and end up accidentaly scratching or denting it!

Huffneff were you that guy teaching basic E.E. RC circuits at the college where I got a C+?

I guess the power company is screwing all of us if the current going back to the power line is the same as the current coming in, then because the voltage is the same too, I wonder how they say that I used any electricity, I guess we are just renting it for a while to run all our appliances?

just read your question. the voltage drop is across whatever load you are using. the larger the resistance, the less current is used.electricity is like a closed water system. all current that leaves the positive post must return to the negitive post.the voltage at the positive post is 12 volts. the voltage drops to 0 volts across the load and this drop is defined as power.if the current was less at the negitive post you could use a much smaller groud wire than the positive wire. the electricity company is charging you for the power you use, not the current or voltage. the bill is in kilowatt hours which mean power. that is a combination of voltage applied times cureent flowing through the device and is dissipated in either heat or energy.

The diagram that I sent was a fairly large illustration. Must be your computer settings.
