My 54 chevy turn signals are working correctly. The problem is the dash blinker indicator lamps both come on at the same time, even when Left or Right is selected. The mechanic doesn't seem to be able to correct the problem. It worked correctly when they were 6 VDC, The electrical was changed to 12 VDC. All lamps and flasher have been changed to 12VDC. Any ideas on how to correct this problem would be appreciated,

Thanks, Mactan

Yes, the explanation is over there. 53-54 wiring has floating (not grounded) sockets for the dash indicators. One wire of each dash indicator is connected to the front signals as normal. The second wires from both dash indicators are connected together and to the third terminal of the flasher.

When not using an original flasher, those wires that went to the third flasher terminal will have to be disconnected from the flasher and grounded, and the indicator sockets reversed in the dash (right for left).
