Hello gents
More questions again and again.
- What color should I paint floors and door when interior is removed, mine is a 210(I think, black exterior with tan interior Master Sport 4 door)paint code?
-where can I get the floor mat and what color should it be, I don’t want carpet in my 38?
Thanks as always
Michael

Paint the doors and floor body color. For a bit of additional protection, insulation and sound deadening I sprayed undercoating on my floors. The garnish moldings are woodgrained if you want to restore to stock. I believe The Filling Station has the floor mat. My 38 Master floor mat is black. I believe the Master Deluxe was beige.

Thank you, I will prime, paint, out a layer of sound dampner then a mat. I want hidden places to look as good as the visible because I know.

I suggest that you reach out to Gene to confirm what type and color floor covering was in the Sport model.

I purchased my mat for the 38 from Chevs of the 40s . It is black and the fit is good. I seem to remember in one of the manuals some instructions about a carpet that was glued down to the back seat floor.

A floor mat came with jute backing between the mat and floor. The replacement mats above do not. They sell a modern replacement jute substitute separately.

Yes I got the replacement jute. I couldn’t cut it with any of my tools. My wife is a quilter and she let me use a fancy cutter that went through it easily. It is much nicer than jute.

I purchased one of these floor mats for my 1938 coupe I believe both the Filling Station and Chev's of the 40's sell the same mat.
They might fit a 1939 put do not fit a 1937 or 1938, inless you have alot of patience.
There have been articles about these in the past.

The images look different and chevsofthe40s have none available. Filling Station presents a good description in regard to the quality but there seems to be little to no other option. In regard to patience. What do you mean? I figured I have got remove seats to install mat which I was anyway to prime, paint and install sound/temp barrier

The mat I bought has a slight hump cast into it for a transmission hump that is non existent in a 38. I made up for it by adding extra padding in that area. None of the cut outs for the shifter and pedals are cut out. You have to do that yourself. The one I bought was slightly oversize and needed trimming to fit correctly. This wasn't a bother for me since it's common in replacement parts that are available. Most don't fit right and needs a bit of tweaking.

I'll ditto the comments of Tiny .... My '37 like the '38 does not have a transmission hump. I too made a frame to fill out for the non-existent transmission hump. When cutting for the pedals, shifter, etc. take your time.... I made numerous measurements before cutting the holes.

I had the exact same experience as Tiny. They are a very nice looking mat when installed.
