I'm not sure if this is a supplier people know about or not so I'll just leave this right here.

I found a supplier of Running Board Mats that are cheaper than TFS. It's called I and I Reproduction, www.iandireproduction.com. Check them out. They have 1928-48 mats.
They have tons of repro parts to choose from as well!

1931-32 mats are $315!! I'm getting a set of those and welled fender brackets while they are in stock.

just remember there are VERY few manufacturers of reproduction parts and usually several resellers of those said parts. most of the reproduction parts there is only 1 manufacturer/reproducer !!

***UPDATE***

I just talked to a good VCCA buddy and he is telling me that this place sells ill fitting parts. Has anyone else found to to be true?

Everything I have purchased from them was fine but it was about 5 years ago.

I did and still have them. My friend bought them at the same time and I watched him install them. I was hard but was easier with the rubber warmed in the sun.

the items i have bought from there worked fine... and pretty sure they do not make many if any of the parts themselves, liek stated before not many places make parts, and sometimes they take a little tweaking/ finesse to fit/work. goes for parts i have bought from anyone and everyone.

prime example about 95% of the molded rubber parts for our cars is made by Steele then resold by the resellers. minus very few rubber parts like the running board mats.

not a huge aftermarket for Vintage Chevrolet parts of this era, some of the parts are made by People on here, as well as a few other guys that do it for the love of the hobby.

gotta have time and patience

BearsFan315, Thanks for your input. I am feeling better about my purchase. I will check back in once they arrive and I have a chance to check the mats for fit.

One other suggestion I received from a man who has restored many of these cars is to fill the indents in the running board metal so the mat lays flat without depressions. He said they originally molded the rubber on the metal and those were filled with rubber.

Lee Allen was making stainless trim but I understand he has sold out. There was a source in Missouri for aluminum trim. I don't have a contact and haven't heard anything about it in several years. Stainless, aluminum and chrome plated brass were all originally used.

Do you happen to have any contact info for Lee? Maybe I could drop him an email to check if he has plans to do any more
