There is a hole in the dash, left of the instrument cluster. What goes there?

It was probably a push button to activate a solenoid for push button electrical start. Not original to the car. A popular add on to eliminate the mechanical floor starter or starterator as some have called it.

That's what my 35 had when I got it and I filled the hole and put a starterator on it. Those push buttons were a replacement for the starterator.

If it's a big hole I seen temp gauge there but mostly on 1936 chevy standard models

It was not unusual for an owner to cut BIG opening in the instrument panel to mount some kind of radio.

I think some '35 models were the same. The temp face was with brown print rather than black.

he said it is a 1935 Master so it came from the factory with a temperature gauge in the instrument cluster.
