Just purchased a 31 Chevy. Looks to be complete so my plan is to get it running and restore it. I've come to this site because I know I will need help and information to do this. Don't know if I am posting pictures correctly but will figure it out. Look forward to meeting all.

Looks like a great project! Welcome and you are in the right place. Many of us have 31's and will be here to cheer you on. The Filling Station should have reprints of the manuals if you don't have them and here is a link to a helpful site; https://1931chevrolet.com/Keep letting us know of your progress. Dave

Nice car and welcome. As dave said, this is the right place for restoration help. When I bomb 31’ I knew little of old car restoration and nothing about 31’ chevys. With the help of many here I restored my 31’ into a very nice driving car. Good luck with your restoration.

You planning on keeping that horn there on the roof? Should make it easy to find your car in a parking lot!!!

I have been driving 1931 Chevrolets for over 50 years. They still are a blast to own and drive. There are a few other '31 Chevy nuts in the Albuquerque area. One that has owned them more years than I.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Ken That roof mounted horn must be one of the rarest of all Chevy accessories. All the other '31 owners here are green with envy. Don't let them swindle you out of it.

I want to service the car before thinking I can go down the road, I'm sure this will take several months or more.. I was told it last ran 60 years ago. Should my post be of continuous progress and post each time I move on or start a new subject thread each time.

I suggest you consider 2 approaches when posting.
Like other members who have reported on their progress, you can do that with one thread. It might get pretty long. I remember seeing one the other day that was up to 20+ pages.
If you need help with a particular issue I would create a new thread for that issue. If your questions are buried in a progress thread we might miss it. Also, please limit a question thread to one topic. It gives people a better chance of finding that thread later when they have a similar issue.
Hopefully others will offer their guidance on how you should post.

Start a new thread for each subject. That way people can respond specifically to that subject and keep the discussion on track.
