Hello forum,
Thanks for joining the forum, I'm new here, I'm from Germany near the Luxembourg border and have owned a 1930 Chevy 4-door sedan for 2 years.
Now my question: after I had the car in the garage for almost a year, the tank was empty. Then I filled it up and immediately the fuel tank ran out of the fuel pump. I am now looking for a repair kit for the fuel pump. I found the following ad on Ebay, but I don't know if the set fits my fuel pump.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/1929-1930-1...ILD-KIT-MODERN-NITRILE-USA-/222941645624

however, my fuel pump looks different than the one on offer.

Maybe someone can help here.

Best regards
Stefan

Welcome to the VCCA Chatter Forums. And welcome to the ownership of a early six cylinder Chevrolet. I have owned some of them for over 50 years and they continue to be a pleasure to drive and let others see.

The pump pictured on the engine appears to be a 1932 fuel pump with the air dome on the outlet valve. The kit pictured on the website is the correct kit for the '32 pump.

The draining of the fuel tank through the pump concerns me. Likely some of the fuel drained into the oil pan. If so it will reduce the lubrication and increase the level in the pan. It may be necessary to drain the oil and refill with fresh oil.

Thank you very much @Chipper, so I will order the kit to fix my fuelpump. Thanks again for the very fast reply. I will look up the tip with the gasoline line. All my cars get a new oil filling every year, whether driven or not.

Best regards Stefan

Welcome to the Chatter, Stefan. I lived in Germany for three years when I was a teenager. I loved it.

1930 Chevy is a real beauty in my opinion, congratulations! I have a friend who has a similar car in his garage of a property in France, I will tell him about an issue that you have and I will come back to you soon.

Hello Folks, the fuel pump is repaired and works well with the kit from ebay.
so far so good.

But now I have a new problem. I tried to get a new speedometer cable for the Chevy, can´t get some here in Europe. I´m in contact with a manufacturer of cables in the Netherlands, but I have to know the exact connection for the Gearbox (I think it is 7/8" 18) and for the speedometer. If someone had pictures of both connections would have helped me a lot. The exact length should be 58 ", or not?

thanks in advance.

Stefan
