When you start a thread or use the Use Full Editor button you'll see the Attachment Manager link toward the bottom of the page, click on it. The Attachment Manager box will open. Click Select A File To Attach then navigate to the picture on your computer and double click it. You'll see two small arrows going in a circle while it uploads. Once a thumbnail of the image shows in the Attachment Manager box you can click Done. If you don't wait for the thumbnail to appear it's not uploaded and won't display in your post.

Do you get a message about them being too large? Do they show up as a thumbnail before you click Done?

This is what your screen will look like when you have a picture ready to appear in your post. Notice the thumbnail in the Attachment Manager box? When you see that click Done and it'll appear in your post after you click Post Reply. It does not appear in or as a preview. You only see it after you post your reply.

Thanks Tiny, I thought the pictures would appear in the preview but I see you are correct and they do show up in the final post.

I'm glad we got it figured out. It's not very intuitive but works once you see how.

Another think to point about about the Attachment Manager is if you want a caption for your image, you need to type it in the File Caption box BEFORE you upload your image.

The caption cannot be entered or changed after you upload the image.

Cheers, Dean

To verify.
Yes when making a attachment they do not show in the preview as well as emojis.
Yes if you want a caption you need to enter it up front.

This site is a couple versions behind in the software but it still mostly holds true.
