Hello Roger. Tom Deseret here in Vancouver does great work. He rebuilt the wheels on our 28 Fisher bodied model 72 Chrysler. It is a very heavy car and the wheels came out beautifully. He uses hickory so they won't get brittle at about a 4 to 6% moisture content. In normal air of 12 to 14% humidity they swell up and are VERY tight. Old wood gets brittle after awhile and I would not recommend driving at all on original wood wheels. He bought Jim Kannes wood wheel business. I think it is called Antique Wheels

When things get back to somewhat normal maybe you can bring your machine work over the mountain.
