My first post as I couldn’t find a thread that helped me.

I have a 1932 (title) but mastermstamped on firewall I’d plate so assuming it’s a 1933.

The side of engine just right of distributor stamped. 836915. Then under G 15 3 ( I think this is July of 33?)

But head is 836273(inside) then on edge driver side is stamped G-14 1

I wouldn’t think mulch about the numbers except I took the rod cover off and trying to order a new gasket and they all seem to have bolt holes on top. My cover has, 6 holes in bottom 3nacross middle, and three on top, HOWEVER my block/head. Has no holes whatsoever to screw the cover to, which makes me think it’s other than 33.

Really trying to figure this out before I start ordering parts.

Thanks, ray

The head is a July 14 1931 casting. The head will work but is actually a 1931 with 18 mm spark plugs. The 1933 heads have 14 mm spark plugs, larger valves and a few other changes from 1931.

Weren't the spark plugs 14mm in 1933? I didn't think 10mm showed up until 1941.

You are right mis-typed the size. Will correct the post.

Aging brains and dyslexic fingers don't always get it right. A second or third look can help. A critical review does wonders.

Thanks guys, yes that’s my problem a 31nhead in a 33 truck, everything’s a little off so will have to double check when ordering top end studs. Did find replacement plugs at Napa that fit. I’m reading .030 gap.
