In Australia quite a few people have fitted modern water pumps to their Chev 4's. I was wondering if anyone in other countries have done such a modification and if so what water pump they used.

Hi Niel, , can you give some examples I've not seen a more modern pump fitted, though it is quite easy to rebuild the original, Ray Sydney

One person grafts a modern bearing assembly on to original pump. ( Check Ray Dean's site ) . A few have used Holden red motor pumps. One has used a 55 chev pump. Found these conversions on Facebook. Trouble is hose size. Was hoping someone in the US might have a better conversion.

They're the water pump conversions I do using the original housing with a modern water pump bearing,seal,new brass/bronze impellor & new brass baffle plate.

Haven't got round to this job on my '28 Touring, but I intend to fit a modern bearing assembly and seal to the original water pump housing. You should find some more info on modern bearing setups if you Google 'integral shaft bearings' here's one online catalogue: Water pump bearings listing

Hello,
How much to do the 28 pump conversion, or would you share the details. I had the Water Pump converted on my '26 but the guy died a couple of years ago so that route is not possible for my 28 water pump.
