Hi There,

Our firefighters union was recently gifted one of our departments original fire trucks. We are hoping to restore it to use for PR events. The truck has been heavily modified and we’re expecting quite the job.

Our first task is discovering exactly what we have. We’re told it’s and 1955 GMC Lafrance. That being said all of its badging says Chevrolet.

Once I figure out how to post pictures I will.

The serial number is 51643623845 and model number 1643.

It would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to the VCCA's forums! Restoration and Preservation is what we live for!

If your photos reside online somewhere, you can link to them in your posts. Just use the 'Use Full Editor' button below the Quick Reply box and you'll find an 'Insert Link' icon ([Linked Image from vccachat.org]) where you can insert the web address of the photo in your post. For example, I used clicked on that icon to put the picture of the icon in this paragraph. ;-)

If you become a member of the club, one of the benefits is being able to upload some photos (up to 10 per post) in your post and have them hosted on the VCCA's server. There are many other benefits too, like getting access to Technical Advisors, being able to use the forum's Search Function, getting an award winning monthly magazine, and much more.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of your fire truck!

Cheers, Dean
