At sometime ,someone removed the service brake bands from this touring car. Just wondering if those available for the model T will work,I'm sure they would need some modifications but the width looks to be the same. any suggestions are welcome. I can only imagine the clutch/brake combo pedal was finally too much for someone.

There was a "kit" available to modify the 490 brake/clutch arrangement. I had one for my 490 but sold it with the touring.

I don’t believe that the T Ford brake drums are the same diameter as 490 Chev, I had some steel sheet cut to the width of the brake drum outside diameter, and rolled them , haven’t gone any further than that though,. Ray is talking about being able to have the clutch and brake pedals work independent of the emergency brake. The emergency brake can then be connected to a hand brake lever mounted on the top of the gearbox, this handbrake arrangement came in half way through 1921,

OK thanks , DJP . i will keep that in mind, i was taking about having made the outside brake bands. Did you get my message regarding the 1939 Horn mechanisms,?
