Hey everyone. I'm new to the club and new to car restoration in general. I recently purchased a 1928 National and would like to rebuild the transmission. Can anyone suggest a rebuild kit for this year? Any suggestions, tips, how to videos, etc. are welcome. Thanks.
Jim

Not sure how similar, but i recently rebuilt my 1929 transmission. I also rebuilt the u-joint while i was at it. will need a press or at least access to one to remove & put in the bearings & bushings.

it is pretty easy to do, as long as you take your time, document and photo the disassembly. i bought the rebuild kit (shafts, bearing, etc...) along with the new bearing retainer and it all fit perfectly, if you need new gears that will be a treasure hunt to find them, or finding and paying someone to make them.

there are a lot of photos, and i have a TON more not in the forum

just remember these are very simplistic mechanical devices !! nothing like a modern.
