When taking the 38 for the purchase test drive, I noticed I could not move the seat close enough to sit back and touch pedals so I drove 38 sitting on the edge of the seat just to reach pedals. I assumed it was a simple fix, something was probably jamming the mechanism, was I wrong. I discovered the prior Nebraska owner literally moved the entire Mechanism about five inches aft by drilling new holes for mounting seat rails, etc... I immediately commenced to removing all of the hardware from top and below, big fun. Upon breaking seat mechanism loose, I found a couple of spare parts, good times. About eight hours later, I thought I had her together including spare parts only to discover front of seat is not secured and tilts back, not anchored(spare parts not installed correctly. I decided to address another situation and take break from the seat, car starts once only then can't start again as though the battery is dead, weird.
There should be a retainer that holds the seat rail down. (Actually two, one on each end) I think I have a photo or two that might show that but they're on the other computer. When I get back on it I'll post what I have.

All this is explained in the Fisher body manual. The first step is to remove the bottom covers on the side of the seat. The cover in the photo appears to be still in place:
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .
Looks the same and that’s how reinstalled them but the bracket that holds the front not swat came out. I haven’t even looked under because of the starting issue or ”˜lack of starting”˜ Issue
If any of the hardware was still in place it’s because the prior owner didn’t use them but instead drilled a bunch of new holes to reposition seat assembly back abut 5 inches. It was mostly easy to put back to original positions except they added a rod to the spring and repositioned the rear roller assembly but I wouldn’t know until I had to secure then it relaxes I had to readjust roller assembly too. Not easy by myself but I finally got it done with everyone’s help. Thank you all. Now help me fix this no starting issue
The 11.568 is the piece I was referring to but didn't have the drawing or number to reference. The upper tab slips into the channel to prevent the tipping.

Funny, when I removed all of the nuts and bolts from the custom install, those two peace’s fell out, spare parts. Fortunately they did not dispose of the original hardware so i used the original mounts and the spare parts were the only thing left so installed them in the rails, so I thought but one must have been out allowing the other to slip out too. All is well now Thank you
