’m looking for a drivers side door window/frame. What other years will fit this 1940 truck?
Chev of the 40 has one for the later 1947-1950. I have posted the picture of their window...
Will it fit a 1940?
Thanks,

Mike

The 1939 aand 1940 are the same. A good glass shop should have the pattern.....

Mike,
According to my 1941 Master Parts Catalog, they did not start using the frame until 1941. If there is no evidence that your door has been replaced, it is likely that someone replaced the original glass with a framed glass from a '41/'46 model. Looks like you just went from needing a frame to having an extra frame.

If I don’t need the frame, would the other parts of the window be the same?

What about the retainer (lift plate) on the bottom of the glass?

Thanks,

Mike

The bottom channel and frame bolt together. The bottom channel is different for the plain glass but yours could probably be used. The regulator is the same.
ClassyChevyUSA has the bottom channel you need.

Any idea if the glass shape and size is the same?

Also, the lower portion of the glass frame has tabs where the upper frame connects to.
Are those required for the tracks without frames?
If not, do I just cut them off?

Mike
