Looking for some u nuts for the front splash apron on my 1929. Looking for 4 good ones, they are .312-18 with a throat of about 1.12" they go on the from horn of the frame then the splash apron screws in to them through the stanchions. unless they are held on another way ??

option 1 Check my normal places... DONE

option 2 ask fellow VCCA members

option 3 have some fabricated

I bought some a while back. Can't find where I found them. Thought it was the Filling Station but didn't find them in the online catalog.

I don't have any in my spare parts, however, they should be relatively easy to fabricate. I'm wondering about the cutout corners and small cutout centered on the hem. Probably they were to allow for a sharper fold over. Do you have the dimensions?

If what Bare Feet pictures is correct, you might try an electronics equipment rack manufacturer. I have no idea if they would work, but that is one of the types of nuts used.

Thanks guys, i have done a good amount of research and hunting... found similar that are readily available, however the throat is not deep enough, most of the commercial ones are only .75" or less.

I do have the dimensions, as i have a set on the 1930 that should work on my 1929.

I can do CAD file and get local shops to quote me out. They are a very simple part, nothing fancy at all. Flat stock, 2 breaks, set of relief cuts, slot on single flat side then .312-18 threaded on the double folded side.

McMaster-Carr. If you haven't bought from them before, you will become addicted. They have anything you can imagine.
