OP marxparts Backyard Mechanic Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 341 Likes: 3 wisconsin	Does anyone know if the NOS GM 5230850 hydraulic valve lifter, listed specifically for 1953 Powerglide 235 engines in the GM parts catalog, work in the later 235 engines?

Chev Nut ChatMaster - 25,000 Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 30,701 Likes: 141 West Allis,Wi.	That number was discontinued in the later years and the 1950-1952 lifter took its place. It is not adviseable to use in a 1954 as a 1953 has a steel camshaft and a 1954 and later a cast iron. Also the internals are different. Last edited by Chev Nut; 10/19/20 07:03 PM. Gene Schneider
