I'm sure most might have seen this commercial, about half way through they show for a second a sort of small rounded vanish, if that is a word, vehicle. I'm guessing made in the 50's maybe. Anyone know what it is?

Did you mean to include a link to video?

No I didn't but I just tried to do a google search for the commercial and couldn't find it. If I come across it I'll try copy and paste. I have seen it a few times on the TV.

It's a '47-'53 Suburban. Try this link. It has vent windows, so '51-'53

My 55.1 panel had vent windows and the ad calls out '55. Maybe 55 first edition??

That is it, that little blue and white job in about the middle of that. What was that?

My old 55 first series panel. I don't have a photo from the rear but it looked just like the one in the video.

What really caught my eye, was the luggage roof rack on the suburban. Those are REALLY hard to come by, and pricey too!

Pretty cool!!

The reason I said '51-'53 is because the next shot is of the grille which was changed for '54 and 1st series '55. '51-'53 had vent windows and the old style grille.

It went by so quick I missed that. I'll have to watch it again.
Edit, yep, you're right. I missed that. It is indeed pre '54. Your eyes are better than mine. laugh

Is the series 55 a style, model or a year? My Uncle in the 60's had a TV repair business and he had a, I want to call it a Handyman Van. Not sure of make or year. I always thought it was a Chevy and my brothers said it was a Dodge.

1955 Chevy trucks are divided into two series. First series trucks look like a 1954 but have few updates(open driveshaft would be one example) Second series trucks are the ones most of us think of when we talk 55 Chevy trucks. They are grouped with '56 through '59 trucks as a body style, though the '58/'59 trucks had dual headlamps. I think Chevy called them "Task Force Trucks".
