Has anyone installed 3 point belts in a 1940 4 door sedan? Or other years as well. I have seen some comments that the dividing post won't work well with those. Any thoughts would be appreciated. DS

I would question if the "B" pillar or door post on any of these older Chevy's could handle much load from a shoulder belt in an impact situation. They would absorb some energy but I would not expect you to be restrained like in a modern car.

I installed 2 point belts in my '37 with large fender washers. I really wonder how much they will help if I ever need them in an impact situation.

Thnaks Rusty. Probably the belts would keep you from being thrown form the car. Take care.
