The part pictured below comes from a 1933 Chevrolet Standard Coupe. As I understand it … the part served as a rear shelf "extender" that prevented packages from dropping off the shelf and falling behind the seat. The extender itself, which measures approximately 48" x 5", was attached to the back of the seat and automatically folded down when the seat was tipped forward to access the tool tray. I am unable to find any mention of this part online or in any of the Chevrolet literature I have. What is this part actually called? Is it a standard part that came with the car? An accessory? If anyone has one in his or her car could you please post a picture?
Any information about the part would be grealt y appreciated!
