I have a question about the horns on my 1946 3/4 ton truck.
I have dual horns, mounted on the firewall. They are not the "Town and County" horns I've often seen, but I have found them listed in a "Genuine Chevrolet Accessories for 1940" shown here:
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/accessories/40ca/index.html

They are on page 33 as in the attached picture. I can't find a readable copy of a 1946 accessories book on the internet so I don't know if they were still correct for my year or not.
Can anyone out there share their expertise and tell me if these horns were still supplied in 1946? Or were they maybe still laying in dealer stock from earlier and used on my truck?
Thanks for your time and trouble!
Ole

My copy of the 1946 Chevrolet Accessories Data Book shows those horns, as Gene reported. Additionally, my copy of the 1946 Chevrolet Truck Data Book only shows dual horns that resemble the radiator support rod mounted horns, commonly referred to as “town and country horns”. It appears both styles are a correct accessory for these trucks.

Thanks very much guys!
My 46 Truck Data Book only showed the "town and country" horns as well, so I thought maybe these weren't right.
The wiring looks original though and the "patina" on everything there makes it look like the horns have been there about as long as the truck has been around.
Thanks again guys, you've made my day!
Ole

Town and Country horns were only sold in 1939. There were two trumpet horns and a dash mounted switch so the production horn became the town horn and the trumpet horns the country. Could be installed on cas or trucks. A version was avilable in 194o and 1941 cars only it consisted of a dash switch which cut out one of the factory "sea shell" horns for the town horn The 1940 book lists ony one accessory horn set for trucks and described as matched horns. The long trumpet horns died in 1940

Thought these photos from the 1946 Chevrolet Truck Data Book might help?
