On the window regulator roller I've found what appears to be a leather grommet over the roller. This correction as I see nothing in the service manual about it. I'm wondering if this was away to prevent the window from rattling. the book indicates a homemade rubber washer to stop this. is it possible the leather was designed to keep from wearing the slot in the window channel as the roller moved back and forth to raised and lower the window? or perhaps to keep the roller in good working order? This is on a 32 sedan just for reference.
Thanks again for any help. If the leather does belong on the roller, any suggestion as to where to get them or make you own?
