any news on how skip and his family have dealt with the west coast fires? miss the old fart here on chat. mike mccagh

He's been doing ok but trapped inside his house by heavy smoke. Fires are above and below him and moving away/getting smaller. Don't think he had to evacuate but was close at one point. He describes the area as a war zone.

Skips area got a mention a couple of days ago on my local news down here and vision of a residential area reduced to ashes but didnt show anything that looked to be close to JYD's doghouse (as he refers to it as). I havent seen any posts by him on here for several months.

just chatted with Skip (JYD) few hours ago, said they are in the clear as of now, fires are moving away, but the small towns close to them are gone.
glad he and family are safe, and hope things stay that way

Thank you for the update on the JYD situation, when a point in the US gets mentioned on thje news down here it generally means something real nasty has happened.
