I need to fill my steering gear. The shop manual does not give a specific grease. The gear is in excellent condition. I cleaned all the old grease and will reseal it. What should I use for lube?

Gear oil is too thin and chassis grease too thick. I mix the two

I use Eckler's Champion "00" Manual Steering Box Grease. This product replaces the GM steering gear lube that is no longer available. You can purchase it from Ecklers Late Great Chevy or at Amazon.
