That's what I did today. I also hooked the starter back up after removing the reverse polarity switch. I put a battery box in as mine was rusted out, I found it on Ebay. I put new battery cables on and running a new wire to the volt meter from the starter (10 ga.). I made up a new ground cable (10 ga. also) for distributor to motor, stud snapped off as I was snugging it up. DARN IT. I haven't taken it apart to see how I can fix it without removing it. Suggestions, ?

Luck had it I just unscrewed the broken off stud and I had a screw same thread and long enough and nuts to fit. End of that chapter, stay tuned.
