Do the wipers “park” on the outside edges of the windshield or in toward the centre? I have only been successful in getting them to return to the outside edges. This is a Canadian built car with a good operating vacuum system. All the photos I have seen on the net appear to have wipers parked toward the centre of the windshield. The problem with a restoration is you can’t make enough notes and take enough pictures to clear up all the little problems.

Could you have reversed the transmissions? Mounted the one that should be on the driver's side on the passenger side and vice versa?

Transmissions probably are not reversed but levers between the motor and the transmissions are. Reverse the position of the levers on the motor and see if that doesn't fix your problem.

I agree that the arms need to be reversed on the drive flange on the motor.

That is an easy detail to miss. Don’t ask how I know.

I have reversed the arms however, they will not travel the full distance and come to an abrupt stop. The arms appear to be jamming on something , defroster vents, radio or cabling. Still trying to figure this one out.

How do the wipers perform on a wet windshield?

My experience is that unless the wiper motor has a very good seal on the flat piston it will not drive the wipers a full cycle on a dry windshield. Or you might need to do the “pull some automatic transmission fluid into the wiper motor to” to lubricate it.

Putting RainX on the windshield reduces the drag on the blades.
