was helping my friend install a new exhaust system on his 1931 2 door. wondering if anyone has a picture of the tailpipe bracket and where it mounts and how. i found several post saying it is on the rear cross member or the hump over the axle. but on his the tailpipe had only a coat hanger on the rear bumper bracket. i got the 2 brackets, and located the one (simple twisted L shape) right where the muffler and tailpipe connect. the other is a mystery, did not see a place in general where it would mount or bolt up to based on its shape like a V.

The twisted bow tie bracket bolts to the front of the rear cross member. There should be two holes in the front lip of the cross member for it to bolt. The tail pipe is held on the up slope before it curves over and then bends down over the rear axle.

ok so if i am under the car looking towards the rear
there should be a cross member in front of the fuel tank
there should be 2 holes for it to bolt to at that point on the drivers side

through holes for bolt washer & nuts or threaded holes.

gonna have to get him to go under and look. since i am back home and he is a few hours away. so need to give him detailed info of where and what to look for :)

The rear cross member is the one that the gas tank hangs under. On the front lip there will be two slots for the gas tank strap and two bolt holes on the drivers side for tail pipe hanger.

Here are some photos. I apologize for the quality. Yes, the bracket attaches to the cross member in which the fuel tank straps attach to.

Hello GreenBayPacker14,
The photo showing the tail pipe and gas tank appear that they are touching each other. Is that an illusion?
