On my original GM (Delco) am radio in my 71 Chevy pickup the power wire to the light bulb that plugs into the rear of the radio is unattached from wherever it was affixed to the radio case and hanging.

I am wondering where this single light bulb power wire is supposed to be getting power from in or on the radio case? The light bulb assembly works when I test it. I assume the wire gets power when the knob is turned on but don't know where in the radio case it came from... I recall it went around the side (left or right? when facing the radio) of the case but do not know where it came loose from.

Thanks in advance if you can shed some light :-) on this for my project.

I see online, looking at photos of these radios, that the wire for the bulb comes from the back around to just above the on/off knob where it enters the case. Probably gets power from a portion of the on/off controller is my guess....solder probably give up when it was pulled on.

But counting today, it would be the first time opening one up to have a look......
