My opinion: Unless you really know and trust their work I would not go to a shop that installs stereos, DVD players,, navigation, and alarm systems.
They are the one’s that created your situation.

I'm along the same thoughts as Rusty except both him and I would just do it ourselves and it sounds like you need to find someone to help.
Shops who's SOLE PRIMARY business is installs and repairs of alarms, etc will be your safest choices in most cases. Ideally a really small shop with an owner/operator that has done this for years and years would be the best situation. It will be the small messy place with no/minimal showroom and have soldering irons and meters visible on the benches and employees who are older than many of your tools. The quicky shops seldom solder and are have ALL young kids. Young kids can be fine IF they are in the right shop.

The alarm and door locks where installed by reliable shops and I had no troubles for almost two years , then little things started to happen. now I have a mess of wiring and nothing works period. I don't think workman was the problem , Just the poor quality of the product itself. Thank you for your opinion. P.K.
