Have seen some pretty bad pictures caused by the weather that blew through Iowa. Hope all is well!

Hi Russell, Thank you for your concern! Yes we are fine here, we were north of the terrible storm. The damage was unbelievable to both crops and structures as well as trees and electrical service. Our Son and Grandson as well as several other relatives were hit with some damage but fortunately they mostly had tree damage as far as I know. We did have a nephew who is a vintage car collector ( I think he is a member of the VCCA) have a tree smash an unrestored old chevy truck but fortunately his restored cars were safe in a shed. As of last night I know there were still people with out electricity!

Yes, it was quite a devastating storm especially for a line across the central part of the state. The Cedar Rapids area was especially hard hit. Lots of corn acreage was blown down across the state and will not be able to be harvested. Plus a large number of empty grain storage bins and silos were destroyed.

The last number I heard was 3 deaths. While not a good number things could have been a lot worse.

Here in the eastern part of the state we had lots for tree branches and trees down. It was over 5 days for some people to get electrical service restored. There was more than enough property damage but given the high winds and number of trees down in this area it could have been worse.

The Davenport Municipal airport which is about 3 miles from us recorded one gust of 86 mph.
