I am looking for a picture of the throttle / accelerator linkage for the 31 1/2 ton truck?
Thanks

It should be just like the cars. A rod with the accelerator foot pad on one end and a 90 degree bend on the other that connects to the throttle plate. Pretty difficult to get a picture while on the car since it runs behind the exhaust manifold.

Here is a picture of the rod and as DB said it is hard to picture on the car. It goes through a hole in the toe board, between the exhaust down pipe and the block and as mentioned through a hole in the carb throttle leaver. On mine the return spring is also attached then a cotter pin. I think I am going to add a little washer between the pin and spring. The way it is bent it can only go on one way. You will see.

One more question, with a little explanation on my part. When I bought the truck it had a down draft newer carb on it, someone was going to hot rod it. I'm restoring back to factory .
Where does this rod hook to and are there springs to return the action back after being pushed? That is a very good pic of the linkage and I was able to find my original pedal from my pile. Thank you for that.

One end of the spring goes on the the exhaust manifold stud closest to the carburetor. I use a sacrificial loop of wire around the stud to keep the end of the spring from rapidly rusting away. The other spring end as explained by Dave39 MD hooks over the end of the rod between the carburetor throttle arm and a washer. All held in place with a washer, coil spring and cotter pin. Most of the small coil springs were thrown away many years ago. I have a small drawer full of them. The spring helps keep the foot linkage end perpendicular to the throttle arm on the carburetor.

I don't know for sure if I researched this for correctness but it seems to work, I bought the spring from the filling station. Mine goes around the pedal shaft after it goes through the carb lever. The other end i put on one of the exhaust studs. Doesn't look correct but it works.

The bracket that separates the 2 cables running to the carb, can you tell me the dimensions? I have set it aside and cannot locate it.with this rebuild going into 10 years, unfortunately I'm missing some pieces.
Thank yoi

Without looking at it, I'd say it is about 3 inches long and perhaps a 1/2 inch wide. 2 screw holes in the middle for mounting and locations top and bottom for the cables.

Attached are three photos of the bracket that attaches the throttle and choke cable to the carburetor. The rusty one is an original and the shiny one a reproduction. The tape shows the dimensions. Hope that helps you know what you need.

What gauge metal do you think this is? I certainly think I can reproduce it , looks to be more like a guide for the cable s rather than restricting their movement.

It has been a while since I put the calipers on the original. If my memory is correct the gauge is an uncommon one today. I was asked to reproduce them a couple of years ago but never got it done. If there is enough interest I can make a few. Also have a few used that I could sell. Send me a PM and we can discuss it.
