Hello I'm in the final stages of a complete restoration of a 29 Coach. Have taken it out for 4 test drives and when turning a corner or even straight road driving the steering will not come back to center. You have to steer it back, almost like something is way to tight. Opinions wanted, I'm thinking something is to tight. King Pins, Steering or ?
Thanks to all

Check your camber and caster. The kingpins incline slightly and that and toe in cause the wheels to self center. That is if everything is operating smoothly.

I would recheck the adjustment of the steering gear. The procedure is in the Service Manual and the Service Bulletins. It sounds like it is set up too tight. If that's not the problem, you could also check that you haven't overtightened the plugs in the tie rod ends or drag link ends. Last but not least, remove the tie rod and the drag link and confirm that you can turn each of the wheels lock to lock without binding.

Hope that helps.

All the Best, Chip
