Does anyone have instructions/diagram of how the electrolock cable attaches to the coil? What bracket/fittings are required? Any special tools needed?

The car I am working on had the switch/key bypassed with a toggle switch and the owner would like to use the original key switch. I found the correct/matching cable on ebay. Just looking for how to attach it to the coil.

Thanks!!

Do you have the "Bucket" on the opposite end of the cable from the switch?

I have the cable with the ignition key on one end and a cup with a wire protruding through on the other end, That is all I have.

Ron, here is a link to an online page in the 1935 Chevrolet Service News. It tells you how to disconnect the cap from the coil. There is a picture on the next page.

Good morning Ron.

Do you have the 1 3/8" x 3/8" firewall grommet like this one I made from a rubber panel plug?

On my '36 PU the cable passes through the firewall at an angle so I made an angled hole to match the cable angle.

Sounds like you are missing the correct coil. If you have the right coil, the attachment is pretty obvious.

I had K M Lifestyle Manufacturing in MA remanufacture the cable. They built new internals for the switch, new wire and repaired the switch housing. Looks great! They even included the firewall grommet. Found the correct coil on Ebay.
