this car's restoration was started by a fellow AACA chapter member. it was bought out of argentina about 20 years ago. when it arrived at my deceased friends shop, it was a right hand drive vehicle, essentially intact. the owner elected to convert it to left hand drive(why i don't know). anyway, it looks like all the parts to convert it back to RHD are present. there is a ton of documentation of this 34's argentinian birth. i'm inclined to convert it back to it at birth RHD. what ya think guys? mike mccagh

I think you should keep it as original or with original replacement parts. There is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that you have saved something for the future that is right. Once you change it; then the original is lost forever unless someone else knows how to put it back and that is rarely done. I wish you the very best of luck in your restoration.

I tend to agree with terrill, return to original configuration especially when you have most if not all the original parts to do it.

If you do decide to go back to RHD and find you are missing any thing mechanical, I can probably help you out having recently bought the remains of two 1934s that were once roadsters. (Standards).

Both were right hand drive . They are totally dismantled but all mechanical parts are present.

can u photo the brake/clutch assembly as I think there are parts missing on mine. my dash is a 34 RHD with provisions to fasten the steering mast jacket on the right side so I I won't need any of that. I think that the parts that came with the car includes the throttle levers and rods but a photo of the throttle linkage would also be helpful. when the RHD vehicles were new, where were the throttle pedal, brake pedal and clutch pedal located in relation to themselves. ie, was the throttle closest to the tranny shifter or closest to the kick panels. and was the clutch inboard or outboard of the brake pedal. thanks so much for helping me understand this old chevy. I've never had or seen a RHD car. thanks again, mike

I dont think I can post pictures anymore but if you can give me your email address I can send them to you direct. As for the pedal lay out, it is exactly the same as a LHD car only on the other side of the car.

Mike
The 3 pedals are in the same configuration as the US cars, clutch to the left and throttle to the right. The headlight dimmer is the 1 that shifts about but generally near the clutch though.
