Will the rocker and lifter covers from a 216 fit on a 235?

Yes it will fit. You need to take the two studs off the rocker assembly on the 216 and put it on the 235. I put allen screws in the 4 holes that where used for the 235 valve covers w/ lock-tite. Good to go. Cheers!!!

The lifter cover or push rod cover plate may not fit as it is much taller and uses a set of screws across the top to attach just below the head. The 235 cover is shorter.

The valve cover will fit a 235 and the only ones you need to plug the 4 holes in are the 1954 up, 235s from 50 to 53 are a direct fit, and have the correct studs for attaching the valve cover with grommets, washers and acorn nuts. 216 pushrod-lifter covers won't fit a 235. The 216 extend and cover the sparkplugs with holes and cork seals at each sparkplug, the 253 only reaches to the head and does not extend above the block.

What year 235?
The 1941-49 216 and 235 "lifter covers" are the same. The 1950-62 are not.
The 1941-53 235 valve covers are the same (except for oil filler cap)
The 1954 (235) valve cover is retained by 4 screws and it has small vent openings on top.
The 1955 and up valve cover does not have the 4 vents - breathes thru oil filler cap.
The 1941-53 top valve cover can be used on a 1954 and up engine if the long studs are used for the rocker arm stands.
