Recently purchased '36 1/2 ton Pick up. It is all stock, the motor is believed to have a rebuild.
What is the best oil to use and should I add zink?

You will get more opinions on this than Carter has Liver Pills!

My recommendation: Use any 10w-30. I buy the cheapest I can find. My last purchase was a case of 10w-30 Chevron regular motor oil at Costco for about $1 per quart.

Any oil you put in that engine today is many times better than anything available when it was new. Don't worry abut the zinc unless you want to spend more money.

10W 30,oil will have enough zinc in it for a 1936 engine. The older 6 cylinder engines had low cam lobes and weak valve spring pressure so even with 1936 no zinc oils they never woreoff a cam lobe.
