Just a heads up for those (especially those new to the hobby) who assume that the sellers know their parts and thus you can count on them being correct and as well as properly fit your car.
Some parts may indeed fit but not be correct for the car.
Other parts will look like just what you need and be advertised as such but will not fit.
Case in point: There is a tail pan (deflector Parts Book Group 7.833) on eBay that the seller says fits 41-48. Although the face may looks the same as 41-42 it won't fit any of those from 46-48. The reason is that the part that goes up against the body is slanted and protruding on the later ones.
I notified the seller that his as was misleading but he neither acknowledged my email nor changed his ad. Most do acknowledge such emails and change their ads.
Beware of ads that have in parentheses (Fits a 41 Chevrolet) or other misleading wording. If you are not sure of the ad's accuracy regarding you particular car, then let us know here on Chat. Knowledgeable posters like Gene, Chipper, Ray, Mike (all kinds of Mikes) and et al, will give you good advice, if we can. Regarding the price of the advertised item, as well.
I hope that some others will back me up on this post because there are many pitfalls out there and shuffling parts back to the seller and getting your money back can be easy or a downright pain in the butt. Can too!

Some sellers will claim most anything in their ads in order to catch the attention of the gullible and novices. All for the almighty buck. Will too!
Ads for parts here on the Chat are relatively far more reliable. Close to 100 percent if not that. I don't remember ever seeing a misleading ad here on the Chat or from our major Chevrolet parts vendors.
Best,
Charlie
