My search skills lacking, hence my first question on this forum.
I had a new gas tank installed in my '55 Belair a couple years ago. The car has been sitting for 7 months with a half dozen startups since. When I went to fill up with gas today, the gas was leaking bad where the filler tube enters the tank. Is there a gasket there that came loose? I've been using the clear gas without ethanol.

The 1955 sedans have a short filler neck attached to the tank.The long top filler neck is connected to the tank neck by a rubber gas resistant hose.
Also possible that the gasket for the gas gauge tank unit is leaking.

I have the 2dr HT. The neck appears to go straight into the tank inlet with no hose. The factory assembly manual shows a inner seal that requires lubricating upon assembly. Could I remove the filler tube and replace the seal without removing the tank?

3710537 is the seal and I am sure it is being reproduced. I remember now of having them in stock. It is a big gas resistant rubber O ring.

Thanks Gene, I found several listings using that number, good for 55-57s.
Can I remove the filler tube and replace the seal without removing the tank?
