good morning,i removed my transmission in my 1946 gmc 1/2 ton that I just bought a month ago to replace the flywheel ring gear,want to change the trans and rear end oil,its a 3 speed trans and 4.11 rears,i,m hearing 90wt mineral oil for trans and 90 wt multi purpose gear for the rear,is this what everyone recommends ?

No but it will cost more. It may provide you with a sense of well being but the transmission and differential could care less if it's synthetic or not. They got no money. Best, Charlie

While the synthetic oil does have some benefits over conventional oils you most likely will never put on enough miles on the 46 to notice any.

Make sure it says it is ok for yellow metal. Brass synchro's.
