Hello all. New user checking in on the VCCA site. I have acquired my fathers, chef-chevy, '48 Fleetline Aerosedan. Look forward to getting involved with the vintage Chevy scene. I am a long time hot rodder, muscle car, drag race type person so going to a 90hp three-on-the-tree ride is a change of pace. The '48 still runs well and plan on getting some use out of it this summer. Hope Bruce would be OK with me taking care of it!

Hello Jason. I received your email to let me know about you and your dads prizes car. Dick had let me in on the info he received from you last week. I guess by now you have learned he had many, many friends here at VCCA. I am sure all of us here are glad to learn of the fate of Bruce's '48.

Welcome and stay in touch.

Thank you for the kind words. I have already been browsing the forum and am finding great information.

*LFSADRG is my own acronym for life's a drag meaning drag racing, not life itself is a drag but actual drag racing. And its the most amount of letters for the WA state personal plate on my '72 Pontiac, ha! I can bang through the gears on the '48 pretty good.

Welcome aboard! Hopefully Bruce's old ride makes it out to some VCCA Meets or tours. It's always great when the kids get involved!

Suspected it was related to drag racing somehow. Thanks for clearing that up.

Welcome to life in the slow lane. It's pretty nice over here with plenty of time to take in the scenery.

Dick and Keith,

Cut a notch. It's a rare thing to be sure.

What time are the Fleetliners getting together again? I'll drop by and have some tea and scones with you. Nip on some Grey Goose or Maker's Mark. No Early Times in the cabinet a-tall. If I have to change the date of my heart surgery or court appearance, I'll do it. Nothing like hobnobbing with your betters on the Cricket worthy, smooth lawn.

A major benefit of mingling with your betters is picking "more better" language skills. To say nothing of flirting with their trophy missuseses. luv2 Maybe offer them a ride in the 41 cabriolet, That's got to excite them owing to the fact that Fleetlines were not convertibles. (One at a time, of course for I'm getting too old to cut the mustard anymore. Not without a longer time-out period.) Agrin

Best,

Charlie computer

L-G: See what I mean. Told you so. Did too!
