I own a 1919 D model chevy that has a four cylinder engine in it now but should be a V-8 because that is what come in the car, so if anyone knows where a V-8 engine is located please call me at 7577712111 or email me at red.duke@cox.net. Thanks

Hello Red!

I would like more information about your Model D. I keep a running list of all 20 known Model D's currently. Can you provide your firewall tag number or body number? Since you have a 1919, that is one of just a few 1919 cars known. Is your car a Flint car, New York or Canadian car? These were the 3 plants they were built in.

I will send you an email also.

Thank you,
Bruce

Sounds to me you have a 490 or FA/B that just seems like a lot of work for someone to go through to convert a model D over to 4cyl. What does your plate say on the car? Does it have mahogany wood dash and windshield frame and tops of doors or are they metal rapped all the way to the top of them?

I recently saw on You-Tube or Facebook a video of someone who found and retrieved a complete chassis and running gear with engine from a dealership in Georgia back in 2017. They were talking of building a speedster with it. Maybe you could hunt them down to see what became if it?

That was Cokie Coker. There also was one at the large collection in Murdo SD that I was told sold to someone in Florida several years ago.

Did any one confirm if he has a V8 body? There is a rumour of a Modle D here in Sydney in a dam I doubt if more than a couple came to Australia. Ray

I tend to agree with 63novaandy that it could possibly be a FB as these vehicles were larger than a 490 and could easily be mistaken for a D model V8.
I currently own 2 FB models a Royal Mail and a Baby Grand, if you could supply firewall tag or body numbers these will help in identifying if it is an FB or D Model Chevrolet.

Hey Guys,

I did talk to the guy on the phone and never could get any pictures to tell what he had in the way of a car. The best I can say is it's a FA or FB or maybe a V8 but who knows.
